Organizers, being interested in the
MonRoi Grand Prix 2007, have been asked (Circular Letter No. 12) to send their applications to the ECU office in Berlin (Germany). In order to facilitate smooth implementation of the MonRoi system in the Grand Prix tournaments a workshop for organizers will be held in Berlin from 1 to 3 December 2006 in the FIDE Trainer Academy. Federations and organizers having shown interest have been informed recently about further details.

According to reports from India, EU chess champion and defending Commonwealth champion Nigel Short called for the abolition of the titles in chess like "Grand Master" and "International Master".
