Dear Friends,

Circular Letter No. 10/2002

At the end of this year we would like to inform you about some current issues.

We have received the following 4 bids for the European Club Cup 2003: Andorra, Crete/Greece, Bratislava/Slovakia and Pärnu/Estonia.

At the beginning of January inspections are planned in order to make a final decision about the venue by 8 January 2003.

The 4. European Youth Team Championship will be held in Balatonlelle/Hungary from 18 July (arrival) until 27 July 2003 (departure). Invitations will be sent out at the beginning of next year.

Please note that the deadline for bids for the European Club Cup for Women is 01 January 2003.

The exact dates for the European Individual Championship in Greece as well as for the European Youth Championships in Montenegro are still being negotiated with the respective organizers. We hope to receive more details within the next days.

The Turkish Chess Federation has confirmed the period from 28 March (arrival) until 12 April 2003 (departure) for the European Womens´ Championship in Antalya. The official invitation will be distributed next month.

The Mitropacup will be held in Pula (Croatia), Hotel Brioni, from 16 May (arrival) until 26 May 2003 (departure).

Please check all your federations´ addresses published on the ECU website. We are going to print a new ECU Manual at the beginning of next year. The Manual consists of three parts:

  • Statutes of ECU
  • Tournament Regulations
  • Addresses of all European federations

If your addresses should be amended, please inform us as soon as possible
