Dear Friends,

enclosed you will find the amended agenda of the ECU General Assembly being held in Istanbul, Turkey, on November 9th, 2000 at 3 p.m. Our meeting room in the Hilton Hotel will be available until 10 p.m.

With separate post you will receive some copies of the first ECU Manual. Please check the data and let us know any corrections, which should be included into the second edition.

As we had announced some time ago, the European Grand Prix will start next year. Please note the information given by Tournament Director Werner Stubenvoll. We would like to ask you to pass this letter on to your important tournament organizers.

I would like to draw your attention to the official inauguration of the ECU Secretariat on November 22nd, 2000. All federations are cordially invited to attend this ceremony. As we have already reserved hotel rooms, you can ask our Secretariat for hotel booking (Queens Hotel, single room 135 DM, double room 176 DM, including breakfast).

The request for information exchange between our European federations is steadily growing. Enclosed you will find a questionaire which has been distributed in Kallithea Greece on the occasion of the European Youth Championships. We would appreciate if you could send information about chess in your country to our Secretariat. We will collect the answers for a publication and will send copies to the Greek Chess Federation as the initiator of this action.

New data concerning the Lithuanian Chess Federation are enclosed.
