Circular Letter No. 3/2006
The FIDE Secretariat has announced that nominations for the European Contintental President have been received from the Slovenian Chess Federation (for Boris Kutin) and from the Spanish Chess Federation for Javier Ochoa Echagüen de Estibàlez. Both candidates now have to present their ticket to the ECU Secretariat by 31 March 2006.
Although all details for the transfer of the ECU website to our current webmaster have been settled the new homepage is not yet available. There are still some technical problems. We will inform you as soon as the domain exists.
We have received bids for the European Team Championship 2009 from Serbia & Montenegro and from Turkey. The ECU Board will prepare a report about the bids and the inspections to the General Assembly in Torino. The final decision about the venue has to be taken by the General Assembly.
The European Senior Team Championship in Dresden was a big success with 46 teams. Congratulation to the winning team of Dostoinstvo Moscow which won the European title ahead of Germany and Finland.
