Dear Friends,

Attached you will find the invitation to the 9th European Senior Team Championship in Dresden/Germany from 16 to 24 February 2007. We hope that this time a lot of national senior teams will take part in the city of the next Chess Olympiad.
The FIDE Trainer Academy in Berlin/Germany offers its next course from 20 to 26 October 2006. Enclosed you will find all details concerning to education of FIDE trainers or FIDE instructors.
In order to respond to various requests there seems to be a need for ECU to collect treatises on the importance of the image of chess. We would like to ask all federations to send us copies of any papers available in your countries. ECU will scan all papers and offer them to all interested parties.
The ECU Manual 2007 will be published by the beginning of next year. Therefore, we would like to ask all federations to check their addresses in the Manual 2005 and to inform us by 1 November 2006 about all necessary changes. You can add all data you are interested in being published.
